From my past experience, cabbage wil keep quite a long time in a cool place (40-50 degrees or so) if you wrap each cabbage head well in a few layers of newspaper & store them in a crate.. 2-4 months, maybe? I used to do this when I lived in MA, and it worked very well for winter storage.
