3 lbs. Frank's kraut
1 cup diced raw bacon
1 cup diced onion
1/2 cup brown suger
1/3 cup whole caraway seeds
1 medium potato,peeled,finely grated
Water to thin, if necessary
1Rinse Frank's Kraut well under cold water.
2In a 6-quart saucepan ,brown bacon and onion;add Frank's Kraut,brown suger,caraway seeds and potato.
3Cover with cold water. Bring to a boil,reduce heat,simmer 1 1/2 hours,stirring occasionally. If necessary add water to keep Frank's Kraut from burning.
