Crockpot ribs and kraut

4-6 country-style ribs

1 lb. Frank's Kraut with juice reserved

1 10 oz. can stewed tomatoes

1 medium yellow or white onion

black or red pepper


1Slice onion into long, thin strips.

2Brown ribs in a skillet or small pot.

3Deglaze the bottom with onion and Frank's Kraut juice.

4Note: I like to use a little dry white wine, too.

5Add all ingredients in a crock pot and season with black or red pepper flakes to taste.

6Set crock to low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-2.5 hours. Longer may make the kraut like mush so keep an eye on it.
