Ingredients

  • 1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 2 lb. sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
  • 1 large Granny Smith apple, cored and diced
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 5 peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cups Kielbasa sausage, cut in half lengthwise, then sliced
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup bacon, sauteed and crumbled

Method

Step 1

Add all ingredients to a large Dutch oven, or soup pot, mix well. Cover and bake in a 350 degree oven for 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
