Nooks’ Kraut With Sausage

Ingredients

One large head of Cabbage, shredded

32 oz. Frank's kraut

3 Large Onions, chopped

2 large apples, peeled & diced

1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced

1 Tablespoon Caraway Seeds

2 Cloves Garlic, crushed

Sausage of choice, 2 to 5 pounds

Directions

1Combine cabbage, Frank's kraut, onions, apples, mushrooms, caraway seeds and garlic in a large roasting pan.

2Stir well.

3Bake covered at 350 for 30 minutes.

4At this point, add the sausage of your choice and stir well.

5Simmer at 275 for a minimum of 2 hours.

6For best results, cook longer, stirring about every hour.

7The longer this roasts, the more and better flavour you will release.

8When cooking for extended periods, you might add some water for evaporation.
