1 bag sauerkraut - drained and rinsed
4 pork chops
6 slices of bacon
1 small to med Idaho potato - peeled and shredded
1 small to med onion - peeled and shredded
black pepper to taste
2-3 cups water
1While kraut is draining, fry bacon until crispy; remove bacon from pan drain grease, leaving about two tablespoons; add potato and onion to bacon grease and saute 2-3 minutes - stirring frequently.
2Place drained and rinsed kraut in roasting pan; add potato & onion mixture; crumble bacon and stir into kraut, potato, onion mixture.
3In same pan you cooked bacon, brown chops on both sides and place on top of kraut in roasting pan. Add water and place in 350° oven and cook for one hour or till chops are done.
4Serve with buttered, boiled potatoes.
