8 ounces fresh button mushrooms
1 large yellow onion
4 tablespoons of butter
1 pound smoked garlic sausage
salt & pepper to taste
2 cans of suaerkraut
- Boil smoked garlic sausage for about 1/2 hour. Drain water and remove sausage from pot.
- Rough chop onions and saute in same pot with butter til starting to become translucent.
- Add sliced fresh mushrooms to onions and cook until they begin to render their water.
- Add sauerkraut to onions and mushrooms. Add 1 cup of water. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover pot.
- Heat sauerkraut, onions, and mushroom mixture thouroughly and then add smoked garlic sausage.
- Cook until water almost evaporates.
