Best Sauerkraut Ever Servings: 15+

3 cans sauerkraut
1 pound bacon
4 diced onions
1 stick margarine
2 tablespoons brown sugar
salt & pepper to taste
- put sauerkraut in a colander and lightly rinse.
- squeeze the sauerkraut well and place in a roaster
- fry bacon until crisp, crumble over sauerkraut
- saute diced onions in bacon drippings until golden brown, add the stick of margarine cook until it's melted. Pour over sauerkraut
- salt & pepper to taste, mix well
- cover roaster and place in a 350o oven for at least an hour stirring occasionally
- hints .... if you like a more tart sauerkraut put in a little vinegar. If you like a sweeter taste add a little brown sugar
