German meatloaf, the best Servings: 8

1 l b ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/2 lb ground veal, can substitute 2 and 3
2 cup caraway rye, small pieces
8 ounce can sauerkraut
1/2 cup liquid from can, plus water to make 1/2
1/4 cup minced onion
2 eggs, combined
- Combine ground meats. Add bread.
- Mix eggs, sauerkraut liquid and onion.
Add sauerkraut and mix all together.
- Spoon into 9" x 5" loaf pan.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for
*approximately* 1 1/2 hours.
- When done, invert pan onto a serving dish. Enjoy.
- If any is left next day, make a great sandwich. Pu rye or pumpernickel bread. Add sauerkraut if desired.
