Sauteed Sauerkraute

1 can or bag of saurkraut
1 tablespoon sugar
one medium onion
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
3 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons vegatable oil

  1. sautee the butter/oil with diced onion in a skillet till onions are golden brown
     
  2. drain sauerkraut and rinse in colunder with cold water for just a few seconds. If you like it more sour, then do not rinse
     
  3. add to browning onions and add sugar, pepper and paprika
     
  4. sautee for 20 minutes
     
  5. serve as a side dish or with hotdogs, or pork dishes.
     

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
