28oz.Snow Floss Kraut, No substitutions, no polish style
1 large white onion, coarsely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup water
2 tsp. salt
black pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. celery seed
2 or more pounds Hillshire Farms kielbasa
can add a few roasted pork chops or ribs, cooked well
- Place sauerkraut into dutch oven or slow cooker, set heat to low.
- Add fresh chopped onion, garlic, water and spices. Stir well to combine all.
- Cut kielbasa into serving size pieces. Place into pot standing on end. Push down to cover.
- Top with cooked pork if desired. Press down into liquid.
- Cover dutch oven or slow cooker and simmer on low. 3-4 hours
