Supreme but Simple Kielbasa & Sauerkraut

28oz.Snow Floss Kraut, No substitutions, no polish style
1 large white onion, coarsely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup water
2 tsp. salt
black pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. celery seed
2 or more pounds Hillshire Farms kielbasa
can add a few roasted pork chops or ribs, cooked well

  1. Place sauerkraut into dutch oven or slow cooker, set heat to low.
     
  2. Add fresh chopped onion, garlic, water and spices. Stir well to combine all.
     
  3. Cut kielbasa into serving size pieces. Place into pot standing on end. Push down to cover.
     
  4. Top with cooked pork if desired. Press down into liquid.
     
  5. Cover dutch oven or slow cooker and simmer on low. 3-4 hours
     
  6. This recipe is for those who prefer a more robust and German style kraut experience...enjoy! SALTY & SOUR
