Helen's Sauerkraut

Ingredients

2 cups sauerkraut
2 slices bacon
1 medium onion
1 medium apple
brown sugar to taste

Directions

Dice bacon and saute with onion and apple.

Add sauerkraut and simmer until the whole mixture turns a light brown to dark brown as desired.

Taste for seasoning and add brown sugar to taste.

At this point it can be served with whatever you desire or you can add some browned sausages, octoberfest, garlic whatever and put it in the oven for an hour at about 350.

Time to prepare

10 min. Cook1 hr. -1:45 min.
