Simple Kielbalsa and Kraut |

Ingredients
1 pkg Polish Kielbalsa
1 large can/bag (20 oz) Sauerkraut
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup cold water
large skillet
large cooking pot or crockpot
Directions
cut kielbasa into 1/4 inch slices
add butter to large skillet, turn on medium heat
once butter has melted add kielbasa
sprinkle brown sugar over kielbasa and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
drain sauerkraut and rinse with cold water, add to cooking pot(or crockpot) and turn on medium low heat
add water to kraut, then pour kielbasa on top(do not mix in yet) also pour into pot any liquid that remains in skillet
cover and let slow cook for 2 hours (additional water may be added during this time if necessary to keep kraut from drying out, usually 1/2-1 cup does the trick)
after one hour, stir mixture and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes, serve and enjoy

10 min. Cook 2 hours 30 min.
