Best Sauerkraut Ever

Ingredients

3 cans sauerkraut
1 pound bacon
4 diced onions
1 stick margarine
2 tablespoons brown sugar
salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Put sauerkraut in a colander and lightly rinse.

Squeeze the sauerkraut well and place in a roaster

Fry bacon until crisp, crumble over sauerkraut

Saute diced onions in bacon drippings until golden brown, add the stick of margarine cook until it's melted. Pour over sauerkraut

Salt & pepper to taste, mix well

Cover roaster and place in a 350o oven for at least an hour stirring occasionally

Hints.... if you like a more tart sauerkraut put in a little vinegar. If you like a sweeter taste add a little brown sugar

5 minutes. Cook 1 hour.
