Nooks' Kraut With Sausage |

Ingredients
One large head of Cabbage, shredded
32 oz. Sauerkraut
3 Large Onions, chopped
2 large apples, peeled & diced
1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
1 Tablespoon Caraway Seeds
2 Cloves Garlic, crushed
Sausage of choice, 2 to 5 pounds
Directions
Combine cabbage, Sauerkraut, onions, apples, mushrooms, caraway seeds and garlic in a large roasting pan. Stir well. Bake covered at 350 for 30 minutes. At this point, add the sausage of your choice and stir well. Simmer at 275 for a minimum of 2 hours.
For best results, cook longer, stirring about every hour. The longer this roasts, the more and better flavour you will release. When cooking for extended periods, you might add some water for evaporation.
Time to prepare
20 minutes. Cook Time: 2 hours to 6 hours or more.
